Elon X of the Week
/
Things are going to get weird once this new generative AI video model drops.
Editors Note
Hey guys, hope you’re all doing well. Here’s the scoop: Mostly working through some incremental vehicle updates this week - we’ve got some really interesting hidden features of the new Model 3 that were only revealed by Lars Moravy in an X thread and not previously mentioned by Tesla.
We passed some time by talking about the unfortunate state of self-driving cars in the world today - check that video out, it’s actually good, I promise.
And coming up in the not-so-distant future, we are going to be riffing a bit more on the Cybertruck - if anyone still cares, let us know - And then checking in on what’s going down at the Boring Company. Stay tuned.
Cheers, Ted
Tesla News of the Week
THE 2024 MODEL 3 - The new and improved Tesla Model 3 is about to enter the North American markets, and Tesla’s Vice President of Vehicle Engineering Lars Moravy took to social media to share some extra details about the refreshed model’s features that we hadn’t heard about yet.
DE-RUSTING YOUR CYBERTRUCK - New Cybertruck owners have been posting images and videos showing that their new stainless steel pickups have been showing signs of oxidation - or rusting - in little spots across the vehicle. This has led to a slew of articles and social media posts criticising Tesla’s new truck - and responses that attempt to do a little myth-busting. This is where Cybertruck’s lead engineer Wes Morrill stepped in to address the issue, with a little help from the Bearded Tesla Guy on
MEXICO PRESSURES TESLA FOR GIGAFACTORY - On February 15th, Samuel García, the governor of Nuevo León, Mexico, made comments to local media about the current state of construction at Tesla’s new Gigafactory site. The Governor made mention of a sort of negotiation that has been happening between his office, the local government of the Monterrey area, and Tesla itself over when exactly the official work would begin. García says that his last conversation with company management ended with his request to begin construction in March, and they didn’t say no, so the hope is that they break ground in less than a month.
