This is the kind of thing that Elon Musk can do that the majority of CEOs can not. Just casually drop in for a meeting with a high ranking Chinese official and negotiate a historic business move. It’s a big part of the reason why he can still add so much value to the company - even if he’s not spending 100% of his working time focused on one business project
