MODEL 3 REFRESH LAUNCHES IN NORTH AMERICA - In a January 9th post on X.com, Tesla announced that the new Model 3 refresh has made it to North America. The new 2024 version of the company’s electric sedan had been spotted at the Fremont plant in California as early as December - and now that it’s officially in production for Canada and the US, we can compare all the things that are changing with this year’s model.

A SOLAR MODEL Y - On January 11th, a reddit user in the server r/TeslaLounge posted an engineering project he was working on, featuring a portable solar roof panel for the Tesla Model Y. The user in question was actually Omid Sadeghpour - a software engineer and business owner who immediately began advertising his team’s invention. According to Omid, this apparatus is called the “Beta 1”, a collapsible solar array that fits onto the roof rack of a Model Y and can provide the user with a portable solution to extend their range during the day.

CYBERTRUCK BODY DEFECTS SURFACE - The overall performance of the Cybertruck has been a source of debate since its debut in November - with several videos of drivers getting stuck in snow or other off-road conditions being shared around during this past month or so. Well, another benefit to having Tesla’s new truck out in the world is that some more experienced truck and offroad drivers get to weigh in on how it actually performs - and as it turns out, it does fairly well in the hands of someone who is used to operating trucks.
